The world is my oyster

Dear Friends,

As our lives, cities and states turn our setbacks into comebacks it’s time we incorporate:

Resilient Response #8 Mine For Pearls

As horrific as Covid 19 was, and still is, good things will come from this. It is always in the suffering, the tragic and travesties, that life’s greatest lessons are learned. It hurts like hell but we gotta smack adversity around, wrestle it to the ground and force it to divulge its hidden pearls. What did you mine from this experience? What are the hidden gems you’ve unearthed? Here are five pearls so far that I’ve mined. I’d love to hear yours.

Bonding instead of breaking.

My husband and I had a choice, locked-down together where tensions brewed, to either escalate into a yelling match OR signal a truce to establish peace. We did the latter. It drew us closer. We’re more in love.

When we found ourselves arguing over stupid things, like the dog barking in the yard (one argued the dog’s barking was a nuisance, the other argued the dog’s barking was natural) and various other things that get on one another’s nerves in close quarters, we decided to create a signal. By making a fist with our right hand and putting it over our heart, all arguing would cease, immediately. We either walked or rolled away, zipped our lip, started to laugh or gave each other a hug but the contention ended. The gesture symbolized that our love for one another was way more important than de-evolving into a petty argument.

Evaluate our Purpose

The quarantine gave me plenty of time to evaluate all the hats I wear and roles I play. I decided to eliminate, change and re-energize certain functions . Slowing down gave me perspective. How about you?

Getting a Jumpstart

I know of folks who went from being broke and panicked because of the covid fallout, who after receiving their stimulus, bonus company pay, insurance refund checks and unemployment money got caught up and then some. They are paying down their debts and got an unexpected jumpstart out of the pit. (What Satan intends for evil, God turns around for good)

Necessity is the mother of all invention.

We’ve all heard tremendous stories of how people, corporations and companies reinvented themselves during the shutdown and mined their ingenuity and creativity for greater purposes. Care to share a story that you know of?

Where are the Advantages?

Interest rates are at an all-time low so our family is looking to better ourselves. Is it time to refinance, purchase a home, or consolidate debt? What advantages are being offered in the marketplace that you can utilize?
