Dear Friends,

None of us will forget 2020 and the hardship it has wrought. In order to be resilient, we have had to dig deep into our resevoir of hope and understand that “Gratitude turns what we have into enough.” May we, like Job, strive to live and say, “The Lord gives and the Lord takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.”

This year, after a closer-than-we-wanted-to-be 2-month lockdown, I still came out the other side grateful for my husband and able to sing, you are Still the One. I was a junior in high school when the song was released and it’s tune still sets my heart-a-dancing. Here’s just a few stanza’s:

We’ve been together since way back when
Sometimes I never want to see you again
But I want you to know after all these years
You’re still the one, I want whisperin’ in my ear

You’re still the one I want to talk to in bed
Still the one that turns my head
We’re still having fun
And you’re still the one

You’re still the one that makes me laugh
Still the one that’s my better half
We’re still having fun
And you’re still the one

You’re still the one that makes me strong
Still the one I want to take along
We’re still having fun
And you’re still the one
(Yes, you are)

Changing, our love is going gold
Even though we grow old, it grows new

You’re still the one that I love to touch
Still the one and I can’t get enough
We’re still having fun
And you’re still the one

You’re still the one who can scratch my itch
Still the one and I wouldn’t switch
We’re still having fun
And you’re still the one

You’re still the one
Yeah, still the one
We’re still having fun
And you’re still the one

So I wanted to say how thankful I am for Lew, and in honoring him I wanted to share a letter, with the auhtors permission, that he received last month with the subject line, A BIG thank you! I listened to him read it to me from his office desk, all the while choking and tearing up. Validation from another means so much.

Good Morning Lew –

I hope you are enjoying your week after a successful weekend on the range(s). I’ve received a lot of wonderful feedback and you know we could not do this without you.

My note this morning is a bit more personal. I want to thank you for your kindness, generosity of time and most importantly the amazing character of man you share with my son year after year. As a single mom I always looked for good male role models my boys could share time with, stand beside and just know they are in good company. I would have never imagined Jacob would have an opportunity to be in the company with someone of your caliber. So thank you. Thank you for being a man of strong character, faith and family. I appreciate you more than words can say.

Grant was a lucky kid to have you enter his life as a young teenager and it shows is the quality of man he is today. Be well ~ stay hopeful!

Kind regards,

Kristin Greenleaf

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. May you too find gratitude in something or someone.

“Yet there is one ray of hope: his compassion never ends. It is only the Lord’s mercies that have kept us from complete destruction.Great is his faithfulness; his loving-kindness begins afresh each day.” Lam. 3:22-23
